Watermark PDF
Watermark PDF documents with a draft label, ownership notice or logo. Add text and a PNG or JPEG image together, or use either layer on its own. Choose a single position or repeating tiles, adjust opacity and rotation, then apply the mark to all, odd, even or selected pages. Document processing runs locally in your browser.
Get Your Result in 4 Simple Steps
Get a clean, usable result in just a few clicks — fast, easy, and completely free.
Choose one PDF
Drop your document into the upload area or click to browse. Use an unlocked PDF up to 50 MB and 500 pages. Keep the original, especially if it contains forms or digital signatures.
Build your watermark
Enable Text watermark and enter your label, or choose a preset such as DRAFT. For a logo, enable Image / logo watermark and choose a PNG or JPEG. You can keep both layers enabled. Logos can be up to 10 MB and 20 megapixels.
Set placement and pages
Adjust each layer’s size, opacity and rotation. Use Single position for a nine-point placement grid or Tile across page for repeated marks with density controls. Choose All pages, Odd pages, Even pages or a custom range such as 1,3-5.
Save and check the result
Click Save PDF and download the new copy. Check readability, logo proportions and selected pages in a PDF viewer. If you change settings, the previous download is cleared; save again.
Everything You Need in One Tool
Built to be fast, clean, and easy to maintain — with no messy lines or hard-to-spot errors.
Text and logo in one export
Combine a text label with an image logo without processing the document twice. Each layer has its own opacity, rotation and placement. The image is drawn after the text, so check overlapping areas if both marks occupy the same position.
Single stamps or repeating tiles
Place a mark near a corner, along an edge or in the centre. Tile mode repeats it across the page with Compact, Normal and Wide density choices. Rotation uses the stamp’s centre, while page rotation and crop dimensions inform export placement.
Odd, even and custom pages
Watermark only the pages that need a label. Odd and Even refer to physical page positions, not printed page numbers. Custom ranges accept entries such as 2,4-6; invalid or out-of-document ranges are reported instead of silently ignored.
Browser-local processing
Your PDF and logo are processed on your device through this tool. PDF libraries load from external CDNs, but the watermark workflow does not upload the document to a conversion server.
Who Is This Tool For?
Whether you're working on a personal project or a professional one, this tool fits right in.
-
Mark a review draft
Add DRAFT to a document awaiting approval. -
Brand a report
Place your logo in a consistent position after merging and arranging the pages. -
Label sample pages
Apply SAMPLE to selected pages of a demonstration document. This communicates status but does not prevent copying or editing. -
Identify an internal copy
Add an ownership notice or intended-recipient label to internal material. Use access controls separately when the information needs confidentiality.
Small Changes. Big Difference.
A little polish goes a long way — it saves time, reduces mistakes, and makes your work look more professional.
Check readability at normal zoom
A watermark can obscure text even when partly transparent. Inspect dense pages and reduce size or opacity if it interferes with reading.
Use a clean logo
Choose a reasonably sized PNG or JPEG. A large image can increase the saved PDF size; enlarging a small logo does not add detail.
Preview unusual pages
Inspect landscape, rotated and cropped pages in the exported copy. Browser previews approximate standard-font metrics and may differ slightly from final PDF text spacing.
Keep signed originals
Editing invalidates existing digital signatures. Keep the source and check forms, links and bookmarks after saving; every PDF structure is not guaranteed to survive rewriting unchanged.
Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to the most common questions about this tool.
Yes. Enable both watermark layers and configure them independently. The saved PDF contains both on the selected pages.
Yes. Choose the corresponding page option or enter a custom range such as 1,3-5. Page selection uses physical document positions.
This version places marks over existing page content. It does not offer a below-content layer. Reduce opacity or choose an unobstructed position when a foreground mark would hide important information.
No. A visible watermark labels the document and may discourage casual reuse, but it is not encryption or guaranteed copy protection. Use appropriate access controls separately for confidential material.
Use a PNG or JPEG logo up to 10 MB and 20 megapixels. The PDF limit is 50 MB and 500 pages, one document at a time. Unsupported or unreadable images produce an error.
The standard text fonts do not support every Unicode character. For Urdu or another unsupported script, create a transparent PNG containing the correctly shaped text and use it as an image watermark.
No. The tool adds new text or image marks. It does not detect, erase or replace watermarks already in the document. Keep a clean source copy when you need different versions.
The tool stamps existing pages rather than deliberately rasterizing every page. It does not intentionally reduce original image resolution, but it rewrites the PDF. Inspect the saved copy; avoid a blanket guarantee for complex documents.
Document and logo processing run locally in this workflow. Internet access is needed to load the page and its libraries.
Usually merge and organize first, then watermark the finished document. That gives you one consistent page selection and placement setup. Check the result before sharing, particularly if the merged file mixes page sizes.
