ToolFlexy MediaFix features

MediaFix audits the WordPress Media Library for image attachments with missing ALT text. Suggestions can use information already available on the website, including related post or page titles, WooCommerce product titles, SEO focus keywords, cleaned filenames, and reusable templates. It recognizes focus-keyword metadata from Yoast SEO, Rank Math, SEOPress, and common AIOSEO configurations.

Administrators can preview ALT suggestions before applying them, work with individual images or controlled batches, preserve existing ALT text in the default missing-only workflow, skip decorative images, and roll back recent ALT changes. This gives site owners a practical way to improve image accessibility without blindly replacing carefully written descriptions.

Optimize JPG and PNG images locally

The plugin can optimize new uploads automatically or process existing JPG and PNG images through a controlled queue. Administrators can choose image quality and maximum dimensions, review a test image before a bulk operation, retain original backups, and see the storage saved for each optimized image.

Processing uses the image libraries available on the WordPress server. There is no mandatory external image-processing account, API key, monthly image quota, or per-image processing allowance for local optimization. Available output formats still depend on the hosting environment and its installed GD or Imagick capabilities.

Create WebP and AVIF versions

When supported by the server, MediaFix creates WebP or AVIF sidecar versions of JPG and PNG images. It can deliver a modern image format through a responsive picture element while retaining the original image as a fallback. The System Status area reports whether WebP, AVIF, GD, Imagick, and the uploads directory are available before an administrator begins a large job.

Find duplicates and review unused media safely

Exact duplicate files are identified with file hashes, helping administrators distinguish true duplicates from files that merely have similar names. The unused-media scanner reviews common references in content, featured images, page-builder data, WooCommerce product galleries, custom fields, and site-branding images.

Unused-media results are candidates for human review, not a guarantee that an attachment is safe to remove. MediaFix does not permanently delete cleanup candidates automatically. An authorized user must review the evidence and choose to move an attachment to WordPress Trash. This conservative process is especially important because themes, plugins, custom code, and dynamically generated pages can reference media in ways that a scanner cannot always detect.

Dashboard, reports, and media organization

The dashboard summarizes media health, optimization progress, image-format distribution, storage savings, missing ALT text, recommended actions, recent activity, scheduled tasks, and server capabilities. Media Collections help organize attachments, while selective thumbnail-size management controls which registered sizes are created for future uploads.

Original files can be stored in randomized backup paths for restoration. Before running a bulk optimization or cleanup task, site owners should still create a full website backup and test the selected settings on a staging site or a small image sample.

Privacy and optional connection

Local image processing runs on the website’s own server. MediaFix includes an optional ToolFlexy Connect feature that is disabled by default. Nothing is shared through that connection unless an administrator explicitly enables installation-data sharing and connects the site.

When enabled, the connection can send the site URL, site title, WordPress and PHP versions, MediaFix version, locale, and connection status. The administrator email is included only when the separate marketing checkbox is selected. Administrators can disconnect and request deletion from the ToolFlexy Connect screen.
